Through this piece I have attempted to picturize the poem titled " An Elementary School Classroom In A Slum" written by Stephen Spender. In this poem, the poet describes the woeful plight of what the world regards as "refuse", namely the poor children in the dingy classroom of a slum. This piece is a call to action for the urgent upliftment of the lives of these slum children, reminding the viewer that it is only their circumstances that have seemingly reduced them to refuse, not their spirit.
